About Us – The Thai Red Cross Society
The Thai Red Cross Society is a humanitarian organization dedicated to helping those in need, regardless of race, nationality, religion, or political belief. Founded on April 26, 1893, under the royal patronage of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn (Rama V), the Society has grown from its original mission of wartime relief to become a nationwide provider of health and humanitarian services.
For over 130 years, the Thai Red Cross Society has remained committed to the Seven Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement: Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity, and Universality. These principles guide all aspects of our work—from medical aid and disaster relief to blood donation and community outreach.
Our Mission
To provide aid and relief to victims of disasters and emergencies, both natural and man-made.
To deliver quality healthcare and medical services through Chulalongkorn Hospital, mobile medical units, and specialized centers.
To promote and facilitate blood, organ, and eye donation, supporting patients nationwide.
To foster volunteerism and community participation, encouraging civic engagement and humanitarian values.
To educate and raise public awareness about health, safety, and social responsibility.
